DeDion Seal Retainer Clip

Postby keynsham1 on Tue May 04, 2010 9:40 am

Does anyone know what the spring clip in the end if the DeDion tube actually does? It is calles a seal retainer in the manual, but I can't fathom out what it's purpose is!

It prevents the inner cylinder sliding completely out so preventing possible damage to itself and your toe! Apart from the safety aspect, I can see no other purpose for it.

I assume that is the spring clip you mean..539080..as you didn't post a part number.

And as some are oil filled, and its an oil seal,
It stops it from falling out and loosing all the oil thats in it! :)
Its not a lot but it would make a mess!! :(
